A panel discussion featuring Dr. Will Guzman, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Intl. Programs & Community Engagement, Academic Affairs at North Carolina Central University and editor of Emmett J. Scott, Power Broker of the Tuskegee Machine, along with Dr. Sherwin Bryant, Director of the Center for African and African American Studies at Rice University, moderated by Janice Bond, curator and art advisor, Bond Creative Advisors. The attendees will experience an engaging and immersive discussion that unveils the extraordinary journey and work of Emmett J. Scott, who was a chief strategist and journalist reared in Houston’s Freedmen’s Town and his impact on the academic standards and interdisciplinary focus of African and African American studies in higher education.
